With all the turmoil happening with our sisters and brothers in Ayiti/Haiti, rains washing upon us, and just trying to flourish fourth from our 9-5’s, we present you an eclectic yet reflective show. For meditating on the meaning of it all, resident Z-Note presents us with a set he dubs Modal Milk—one that swishes you to and fro genera like your cerebellum recalling childhood, yet keeps you grounded in the present awareness of harmonious rhythmic patterns.

Celebrating our abilities to harvest bountiful memories, our technically precise brotha Professor Bang, of the Slayer’s Club, extracts us out of inner selves with a healthy dose of what the Slayer’s do best—charm and audio carnage. And when we say “technically precise” we mean that el professor is indeed a wise and learned aural mixologist. Integrating a sultry side of dubstep with aDoorly remix of Basement Jaxx’s Raindrops, and then skillfully flying up-tempo like speeding on the autobahn, Professor Bang vows that he’ll help grandma cross the street safely yet leave her loving the wobble.

On the real tip, if you do wish to respond with love/donation to Haiti please check out Partners in Health, an organization that has been on the ground with folks in Haiti for over 20 years–and is one of the most inclusive, community-based health models serving the forgotten.

Beating with other hearts that be, viva Ayiti!
